We brought the kids to a swimming spot that we’d been to before on the Cold River near North Adams. I promised they’d love it and I weren’t no liar! It was a hoot.

According to swimmingholes.org, the spot is called “Whirley [sic] Baths.” The name fits. The river cascades down over a series of rocks through a variety of whirly little pools on the way down. We couldn’t remember how to get down from the road, but the directions led us to a parking spot a little further upriver. Turns out there was a trail leading pretty much right where we wanted to go.
