My memory of going up the Empire State Building as a kid didn’t involve the lengthy museum (and gift shop) tour we went through. None of the security neither. My memory was just going into the art deco lobby, walking down to the elevators at the end, and going up. Maybe Pops can weigh in here on how accurate that memory is.
