Mid-gobbler, I noticed something I hadn’t noticed before: there’s a traffic up on top of the clock tower of the Harrietstown Town Hall. We were in town for the Bug Crawl, so at first I figured this was just another quirky local art project. Then I figured some more and realized that that would’ve been a pretty difficult installation. So I did some Googling.

From what I could gather, nobody really knows why it’s up there. The consensus seems to be that it had something to do with the police department. Back in the day (supposedly) they’d rigged up the light to turn on when a call came in to the station and nobody was there to pick up. Any cops out on patrol who noticed the light would then hurry back to the station.

Other people think it might be there to signal aliens.
