We just did a quick van trip to the Ventana Wilderness the other day and camped out at Arroyo Seco (which, I’d have to agree with every clever review of the place I read online, was anything but seco!). We found some sweet swimming holes and apparently you can do a trip where you put your backpack in a big drybag and float down the river on it.
Sarah thought that sign said "NO SHOUTING," and got real quiet.

1) What does "seco" mean?
2) I thought it said "Shouting" too, until I read the last sentence of your description. I assumed that I was looking at the entrance of some sort of fragile canyon or something.

1) "seco" = "dry" ("arroyo" = "creek")
2) We too had visions of Roadrunner-esque landslides resulting from us talking too loud.
