
The Norman Rockwell Museum was doing an exhibit on Walter Wick, the creator of the I Spy books, so of course we had to go. It was super cool. Most of the exhibit consisted of large format prints of the photos and we spent a couple hours looking through all of them. We learned a lot about the books and Wick’s process too. I didn’t realize, for example, that there’s a little recurring character named Seymour that appears in a lot of the pictures!
The coolest thing, though, was that they brought in some of the sets used to take the photos. A few of them were huge, like this one for the cover of Can You See What I See? Once Upon A Time. Here’s the final product:
