During my recent jaunt to Little Rock, I stayed at the luxurious Legacy Hotel. All of the rooms had vinyl awnings that shook in the wind. The sound, coming through an unopenable window, sounded not unlike a person rolling a large, plastic garbage can through the parking lot… all night long.

I closed the heavy blinds to muffle the sound even more, but then I couldn’t see the neat patterns of light projected on my ceiling.
