I just got back from a trip to the thriving cultural hub of Little Rock, AR. I was in town for a conference of the Society of American Music, presenting a research project on rhythmic/(hyper-)metric ambiguity in dubstep and other, similar EDM genres.

Aside from Delta losing my bag for a day on the way there and the food poisoning I got on the last day (which lasted through three turbulent airplane rides home), it was a swell trip! People liked the poster and I attended some interesting panels.

I stayed at the remarkably cheap Legacy Suites hotel. Word on the street was that Bill Clinton and various other Arkansas politicians used to really live it up at Filibusters, the hotel bar. I didn’t see none of that, but I did see the big courthouse (above) across the street.
