frogs in a beaver pond

We were walking along the edge of this old beaver pond in the Wolf Lake State Forest the other day. And when I say "along the edge," I mean right down by the water. The trail was so close, in fact, that we scared a bunch of frogs off the trail. You never really saw them, except out of the corner of your eye, but you’d hear an aggressive "Peep!" and then a "plunk."
