There’s a swimming hole right across the street from our new house. There’s a bridge over the St. Regis River that you can jump off into a deep spot near a small waterfall. But that wasn’t good enough for us! (I still haven’t mustered up the courage to take the plunge yet anyway…)

So… Having seen that http://www.swimmingholes.org/ lists a few spots near our house, we decided to venture forth and check some of them out.

The closest listing was on the Stone Valley Trail in Colton, NY. It turned out to be almost more than we could handle! We sampled the spot pictured above first. But when people started showing up, we decided to explore a little further downstream. We soon found ourselves on a world-class tour of different types of swimming holes! Deep pools, jumping rocks, waterfalls, you name it!
