Part of the boardwalk in Lake Lotus park goes out over the actual lake. I was hoping to see some big reptiles but was pretty stoked when I spotted a big turtle down among the lily pads. There were two little boys with their mom nearby and I was about to point it out to them when one of the park docents called us all over to check out this scaly monster lurking in the swampy grass.

Holy fucking shit! A goddamn alligator!

I would’ve been satisfied with the snapping turtle I saw next to the bike path one day, but this totally trumps that.
