When our Alcatraz plans fell through (see here) we decided to stalk the famed parrots of Telegraph Hill. Turns out they’re much harder to find than you might think. According to the Internet, they tend to hang out in the privacy of people’s back yards where the prying eyes of tourists can’t find them.

We didn’t see a single parrot.

And aside from a few gulls, crows, and other tourists, this hydrant was about all the wildlife we did see that day.
