Last month I mentioned
that we were hiking around Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve looking for the Mazzariello Labyrinth. When we finally found it, we also found that it was mostly underwater as a result of the heavy rains we’d been having. We mucked through some of the labyrinth and then started paying attention to what this weird couple nearby was doing.
The woman, a round older lady, was jumping from one rock to the next. She missed her landings about half of the time and was pretty wet up to her knees. Turns out they were looking for newts in the flooded paths of the labyrinth.
We started looking too. Probably would seen more than we did too, if the woman hadn’t’a stirred up all the mud.
