Last year, I discovered that the small fruits growing on a number of neighborhood trees are actually mirabelle plums. With a little testing (I worked up the courage to eat one) I found out that not only are they edible, they’re delicious!
Well, they’re blossoming now and from the looks of things, it’s going to be a bumper crop! I picked a branch with flowers (pictured above) on the way home and stuck it in a small vase for Sarah.
It occurs to me as I write this that every blossom on this branch is one less plum for me to poach and eat.
