The day before classes started over at UC Berkeley, there was supposed to be a mega swell hitting the west coast. ("50+ feet," said the reports…) I thought it would be a bad idea to go surfing in that kind of business.

But I also thought that it would be a good idea to go watch some giant waves crashing!

So we loaded a few friends into a car and went for a drive over to Ft. Cronkite/Rodeo Beach to look at the infamous Potato Patch. (Read about it here!)

It was a blustery day, so the waves weren’t all that impressive looking. But we got to play around in the old fort up on the cliff which was fun! (More pics to come…)
