A short while after moving to Orlando beginning work at Full Sail University, I heard back about one of the 80+ other jobs I’d applied to. As it turned out, I’d made the shortlist at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. And they wanted to fly me out for an onsite interview on their dime!

Needless to say, I was overwhelmed and didn’t know what to do. It seemed like no matter what I did I’d be upsetting somebody or missing out on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. But among all the people I talked to, the opinion seemed to be pretty unanimous. I had hoped to come to some sort of arrangement with the head of my department at Full Sail, but no dice. Long story short: I ended up going to Stellenbosch and am now unemployed in Orlando!
