The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens I

After riding my bike up to explore Winter Park to sample the local Cuban cuisine and walk around the Rollins College campus, I thought I’d stop by the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens
to peruse their collection. I didn’t realize that all of the sculptures were by Polasek.

I didn’t really care for his work. Most of them were either concrete statues of Jesus or bizarre marble statues of Greek gods and other mythical figures. This is the one sculpture I did like: The Maiden of the Roman Campagna (1911). (I don’t know what she’s doing with her hair.)
