We decided that on our way down to the SEM* conference in LA it would be in everybody’s best interest to camp in Big Sur. Not so much to break up the drive (I think it’s probably a longer drive to LA from Big Sur than it is from Berkeley), but rather to take in the glorious sights!

We arrived in the dark, as per usual, and set up camp in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. Sarah and I had camped there once before (and stayed in the cushy cabins once before that!). It was a lovely night! Cold, but the beer helped.

I got up early in the morning and went for a walk. On this walk I found a leaf. And of this leaf I took a picture. (I think it’s a bigleaf maple leaf… but maybe it’s a sycamore.)
