while we’re on the subject (I)

Dad is currently lamenting the non-receipt of an $8,000 homebuyer credit from the IRS. In his mind, however, he already spent the money burying some power lines that obstruct the view out his living room window.

But… there was already an ethical dilemma with the situation: a blue bird (NY state bird and highly coveted aviary tenant (/status symbol) of upstate retirees) had taken to eating it’s lunch on top of said power lines. Burying the wires would probably scare the prized bird away. So I say, rather than cry over lost tax refunds, embrace the power lines!

In tribute to my father: pictures of birds on wires:

one, two, three, four, five, and six.
